Welcome Reverend Masterson who will become our Priest in Charge beginning August 15th.
Dear Siblings in Christ,
It is my great joy and an honor to join you at St. Mary and St. Martha as Priest in Charge this August. In discerning this call, God’s guidance is being made clear and extraordinary. Since then, I have been praying for you each day. Currently, I am serving at Christ Church Cathedral in Lexington, KY as Associate Rector for Outreach and Welcome.
My husband, Greg and I are natives of New England, but spent many years in Atlanta before attending seminary at Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, TX. Years ago, we attended St. Mary and St. Martha and found a beautiful community there. We have one son, Zachary, who is 18 years old and will be attending Weber State University in Ogden, Utah in the fall. We also have one daughter, Lydia, who is 15 years old and will be a
sophomore in high school. I was an educator in my former vocation and trained in chaplaincy before attending seminary. My great loves are people, gardening, and belly laughing, preferably around the dinner table. All of these experiences and loves remind me that nothing is wasted in the economy of God.
I am spending time in Lexington saying my prayers of thanks and goodbyes before arriving in the area in late July. My last Sunday at Christ Church Cathedral will be July 25. My first day with you will be Sunday, August 15. I am grateful to the strong support and efforts of Bishop Wright, Canon Alicia, and the vestry that led us all here. Together, we will grow further into who we are made to be- a community of faithful followers of Jesus, reflecting the ultimate love- God for us- in our prayers and in our actions. We are called to love and heal, grow and pray. We will, with God help!
